Honorary members are outstanding scientists with special achievements in entomology may be appointed by the executive committee and the majority of the former presidents (chairmen) of the DGaaE.

The members of the Society are invited to submit proposals.

The appointment is made by the president. [§3 paragraph 1(c) of the DGaaE-Satzung]
